Trim levels
The new Dodge Hornet for 2023 will give Connecticut buyers a total of three trims to choose from:
The GT trim will come with a Hurricane 4 turbocharged engine along with standard torque-vectoring all-wheel drive. The base-level infotainment touch screen is a surprisingly large 10.25 inches. The Dodge Hornet GT Plus includes the same turbo engine and gives you genuine leather seats, wireless device charging and a premium Harman Kardon stereo with 14 speakers. The Dodge Hornet RT model will have a plug-in hybrid powertrain that will create 285 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. It will also come with stylish Brembo brakes.
Engines and performance
The 2023 Dodge Hornet is equipped with a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that can generate 268 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic transmission are both standard features. It's reported that the Dodge Hornet GT can move from zero to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds. The RT trim should go even faster, traveling from zero to 60 mph in only 5.6 seconds.
Fuel economy
The EPA estimates that the 2023 Dodge Hornet GT will deliver 21 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on highways around Torrington CT. In a preview of coming attractions, the 2024 Dodge Hornet R/T performance hybrid will be good for 30 miles of all-electric driving range with fuel economy estimates still to come. If you use a high power inverter and a 7.4-kilowatt charging module, you can achieve a full battery charge in about 2.5 hours with a Level 2 charger.
Interior highlights
The inside of the new 2023 Dodge Hornet will have just as much room as the new Alfa Romeo Tonale, which means there will be a lot of space in the front row. Interior styling will direct the primary controls and infotainment system toward the driver and you'll find a tall shift lever for the automatic transmission located on the center console. In addition, the new Dodge Hornet comes with the same steering wheel as the Tonale. Black upholstery with red stitching will be standard and the Hornet GT Plus trim will come with leather.
Exterior highlights
One of the most remarkable attractions in the new Dodge Hornet is the fact that its design so closely resembles its cousin the Alfa Romeo Tonale. The new Hornet will attract buyers with a dynamic exterior design that helps give this subcompact SUV a look that's sportier than a conventional SUV. The new Hornet has a distinctive grille and the kind of vivid paint colors Dodge is known for.
Technology
All Hornet models will come with a 10.3-inch infotainment touch screen and a 12.3-inch digital gauge display. The software interface is the latest Uconnect 5 system and smartphone connectivity for both Apple and Android will be standard. Safety technology will include standard automatic emergency braking and a lane departure warning system.
