The Duramax diesel engine retains the 10-speed automatic transmission, but with an output that's increased from 445 to 470 horsepower and 910 to 975 pound-feet of torque. The 2500 also now has a max towing rating of 22,500 pounds.
 
• Technology: Get even more convenience and ease of use with a larger digital display featuring a 13.4-inch touchscreen that has Google software and works with Google apps.
 
• Safety: Improved safety and driver-assist features include an extended range on the blind-spot monitor, as well as Adaptive Cruise Control for trailering, an available camera view for gooseneck and fifth-wheel setups to see through trailers and an alert that notifies you if you exceed the truck's Gross Combined Weight Rating.

This new off-roading trim is specially made for towing, hauling and off-roading all at the same time, with several bash plates, a lifted suspension, spool-valve dampers and 35-inch mud-terrain tires. With a Bison sub-model, you get stronger underbody armor, 18-inch wheels and steel bumpers.

High Country

The fanciest trim's exterior has animated sequences with new dual-projector headlights for when the driver approaches or walks away, with standard 20-inch chrome wheels. The interior features real premium leather surfaces with fabric piping, genuine wood, and "High Country"" accents. There are also rain-sensing wipers, a standard Bose® seven-speaker audio system with acid-etched stainless steel speaker grills, and power-adjustable heated and ventilated front seats. Nightshift Blue interior is a new option, as is the Midnight Edition.
