Chevy's New Diesel Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is Making Waves

The word is out--the new Chevrolet Silverado 1500's diesel engine is a winner. The new Duramax 3.0-liter turbodiesel I6 motor produces an incredible 460 pound-feet of torque and 277 horsepower--significantly more than competitors.

This exciting new engine is expected to be an option on the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT, Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RST, Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ, and Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country. The new motor comes equipped with automatic stop/start technology for maximum fuel efficiency and comes paired with Chevy's advanced ten-speed automatic transmission for smooth and responsive gear changes with plenty of low-end torque and towing power.

The new Duramax diesel engine will be available soon, but in the meantime, you can enjoy the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with five other powerful engines: a 4.3-liter EcoTec3 V6, a 2.7-liter turbo, a 5.3-liter EcoTec3, a 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 with direct fuel management system, or a 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8.
